http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/merckx56/nickbike1.jpgI'm building a teammates 48cm Redline Conquest Pro frameset and I'm at an impass. It seems the cable hanger on the seatstays is too close to the seattube to properly route the cable and housing. The only option I can think of is to run a section of Nokon housing from the top tube to the seatstay hanger...
The fact that a barrel adjuster is needed for the hanger only compounds the problem.

I'm planning on taking it into the shop tomorrow, but would like to finish it off tonight.

Any opinions?

Ow. Hang a cable hanger with adjuster off the seat post binder? That's the only thing I can think that isn't an arts and crafts project.

Put the seat where you want it and get a center punch, a small drill bit and a bigger drill bit....

Go to an auto parts store, see if brake line comes in a diameter compatible with the ferrules on a noodle take a tubing bender and an adjustable noodle ...

Uhhh, Let us know what you come up with other than some new vocabulary for the folks at Redline.

A threaded barrel adjuster and a piece of Nokon housing did the trick...

Just curious, can you post a pic of your handi-work. Thanks.

Glad to hear you got it solved and sounds like a clean fix.

I haven't spent any time with the Nokon stuff, but have seen it used to do all sorts of things regular housing won't handle. Gotta try some.

I'm having a similar problem with my rear v-brakes on my '08 redline conquest frame...it seems that the housing routes in such a way that the metal piece is at a angle and doesn't release all the brake cable...so i get sticky rear brakes that don't re-center..grrr...i am currently working around the problem with really loose braking since theres no mud in the midwest :-)

Any ideas? The Frame is set up same as pictured above.

I'll get a pic tonight, before the ride...

Nokon takes a while to set to the correct length, but it's really easy and eands up working very well. I'm thinking of going to it on my road bike.
