4 A.M., dark, cold (32 degrees F), and I'm getting to be very slow.
The only riding I've been doing lately has been back and forth from the job.
Round trip, 11 miles or so. I better get to riding the Airdyne in the
basement again or it'll be a long Spring getting back into shape.

I only live about a mile and a half from Lake Ontario and since the water
is warmer than the air, winter starts out a few degrees milder here than just a
few miles to the South. Of course, the South side of the city warms up a few weeks
earlier in the Spring, which is frustrating. Anyway,by the time I got
about four miles from home this morning, the shiny puddles weren't making waves
anymore, they were making crunchy sounds.

Oh dear, here come the long, dark, cold commutes again. Sigh !!!!! :(

Yeah, I was up early this morning, thinking about a sunrise ride. The Weather Channel web site said it was 28°F. I didn't feel like mounting the studded tires, so I putzed around the house instead. This afternoon I took Yellow Bike out for 25 miles or so at 38°F. Ran into Ang1sgt (Chris) over by the airport. He was just ending his ride. It was nice to catch up.

And it may be a bit warmer along the lake, but even here on the south side on a sunny afternoon, that north wind had quite a bite.

I did the same. At dawn it was -9C , warmed up to 0C and sunny. I did 57km and it was quite comfortable. i didn't see anyone else out (bunch of wimps):lol:My speed sure drops off in winter though.(. .

We've already had 6 mornings of temps ranging from 22 to 25. Supposed to be warmer the next couple of days and then get colder. Prediction for Thanksgiving Day is 35/20.
