Hello! Have any of you registered you bike with the police? I would like information like how to do it/cost. And have any of you ever seen somebody riding your stolen bike? thanks.

Check with your local law enforcement. In Salt Lake County, the registration information goes into a desk drawer and is never seen again. Waste of time.
Honolulu has a mandatory bicycle license. $15.00
Never heard of anyone getting their bike back because of a license.
Cops have confiscated bikes because they were not licensed. A military spouse, new to Hawaii got hit by a car. No ticket for the motorist, but the cops did confiscate her bicycle because she did not know it had to have a license.

“This week, we received a letter from a member who was hit by a car while commuting to work. After some difficulty in reporting the accident, the cyclist had her bicycle confiscated for not having it registered. So, here she is, hit by a car, a little out of sorts, her bicycle slightly damaged and having to watch it be crammed into the trunk of a police cruiser, possibly to never be seen again (at least by her). Wow, what a morning!”
I met her after the fact. She got the bike registered and the police did "then" give it back to her.

I have not registered a bike.
I did have a mt. bike stolen on the campus of the University of Ky. back in '91. I saw the guy riding it near commonwealth stadium, knocked him off it, kicked him around a little and took it back. I regret to this day leaving him with functioning hands so that he could steal again.
