I am complete newbie to biking and I have a
Specialized Sequoia

I need to replace the brake pads and have looked online and I am unsure as to what type etc to buy
Obviously they need to be multi condition pads
Would these be the correct ones & are they a good brand ?

Those (Performance) are pads for V-brakes (mountain bike brakes). Unfortunately the Specialized site does not specify the make of your brakes, but they are definitely road bike brakes that use cartridge pads which are very easy to change out and don't necessitate re-adjusting your brake pads(!). Perhaps your LBS or the dealer where you purchased the bike can help. Or email to Specialized. Maybe someone who posts here is familiar with this bike........

We just had a thread bashing this shop - buyer beware. Anyways, grab a set of koolstops for dura holders. Best brakes pads you can buy. Should be ~ $10 at your LBS. Will be compatible with your tektro dual pivot cartridge holders.

Please excuse my ignorance- do ALL Shimano cartridge road brake pads have the same profile, from Sora on up to Ultegra and DA?

AFAIK, yes, all Shimano cartridge brake pads are interchangable across all lines. Koolstop pads for Shimano holders also fit all model Shimano brakes with these holders.

Tektro and Nashbar's house brand brakes (made by Tektro I believe) both take Shimano and Koolstop pads.

-meaning Dura Ace cartridge pads will fit the OP's (likely) Sora calipers (?).

No they do not. Sora and Tiagra brakes take a replaceable shoe assembly. 105 and up to Dura Ace take a replaceable pad.

You must determine which of these types of brakes you have before you go out to get replacements.

He already knows what brakes he has - tektro dual pivots with their cartridge/replacement pads. The OP seems to be confused by the terminology used to describe the "type" of holder he has. Namely that his is compatible with the "Dura Road Holder" that Koolstop sells which is the replacement pad and the holder.

All koolstop dura type brake pads will fit any shimano brake with replacement pads/cartridge assembly (You are right that sora/tiagra road calipers do NOT come with cartridge/replaceable pads). The word dura has nothing to do with "dura ace" or anything like that. The take home message here is yes those, "dura replacement pads" will fit on the OP's tektros holders.

True but the Sora/Tiagra brake shoe assembly can be replaced with Shimano/Koolstop/Tektro pad holders which then accept all of the replacement pads. I've upgraded several sets of previous generation Shimano Ultegra and 105 brakes with Koolstop holders and pads.

No It came stock standard, Nothing was changed
