still no takers:
A corporate sponsor backed out on me and no team players.
Team No Sleep is stuck in the Twighlight Zone, so sad.
Still I will what I can to make it so...

Hello here's an update:
Less than three weeks remaining and I have just broke the 25% point. A little dis-heartening,
as I have done worse this year than last. Some have really stepped up to the plate and
kicked in substantial donations. I thank all of you so very, very much.
Your thoughtfulness truly brings us all that much closer to realizing our dream of finding a cure.
For those that say " I will" and do not I truly believe that they really do not realize just how
possible it is that they, or one that is close to them actually has the disease.
There are 20.8 million children and adults in the US with diabetes --
and nearly one-third of them (or 6.2 million people) do not know it!
Here is a simple test : http://www.diabetes.org/risk-test.jsp

Is Diabetes A “National Epidemic”?
You be the judge. Here are the staggering statistics for 2007-2008.
• Every 21 seconds someone in the US is diagnosed with diabetes.
• 613 people in America die each day due to diabetes.
• Diabetes is the 5th largest cause of death in our country.
• The CDC predicts that 1 in 3 children born from 2000 on will develop diabetes in their lifetime.
• 21.8 million Americans have diabetes. 41 million Americans have pre-diabetes.
• The cost of diabetes in the U.S. per year is over 132 billion dollars.
• The number of Americans with diabetes with diabetes has increased 14% in the past two years.
• 0% = the percentage increase in funding for diabetes research and prevention in the 2007 federal budget.
1 minute = The amount of time it takes to send a message to decision makers advocating increased funding for diabetes research and prevention programs and access to adequate health care coverage for diabetes!

Greetings!
The ride Saturday was a blast;great sunny skies and everything went off without a hitch.
No crashes this year and not one rider ended up in the broom wagon.
Slightly longer course which took us around the Currituck prison,
( guessing someone wanted the inmates to see what real freedom is like)
The deadline for donations has been extended until the nineteenth of May
so I may get a littler closer than 31%.
