So today i was riding some DH, through some pretty rough rock gardens and stuff. I went over a little drop, and smash...I nail this little mongoose who was eating some dog poo or something.
I pulled off the trail and ran back up there to see if it was dead, but it was just kind of groaning and twitching one arm. I could tell its back was broken from the way it was mangled.
I didnt want the thing to suffer anymore, so i ran its head through the chainring to put it out of its misery.
What would you have done?:(

I can say I would have done the same thing. Suffering animals are the worst especially the crys. Putting it out of its misery was the nice thing to do.

I agree that putting it out of it's misery was the thing to do. Putting it's head in the chain ring must have been messy, Texas chainsaw massacre style.

suffering animals are no fun. but i probably wouldn't have had the courage to run it through my chainring.

I would have done the same thing..... Except running it through the chainring..... I would have probably hit its head on a rock or sumthing.....

Well, not to be too graphic, I run a blackspire chainguide.......just think about it.
You did the right thing, accidents happen there is no way around it. That would be a hard thing to kill the animal but it was for the best.
