Classic & Vintage - Old Rollers and a Zeleris

Here are some old rollers I got yesterday. I have a trainer but that sucker is way too loud. I went to check it out to see how loud and smooth it was and to my surprise it was both smooth and quiet. Have you guys seen any Rollers like this one? It's still in the truck so I haven't taken any pics of it. The bike came with it also. I'll post pics of that too later. Zeleris???? Spanish that's all I know. Here is the pic from the ad.

Never heard of a Zeleris, but check the dropouts, hubs & components to see if they are marked "Zeus". If so, this is good. I haven't seen rollers like that either, but it looks like it will be hard to fall off. Don

I know for sure it's not a Zeus, though I wished. The head badge says G.A.C. The hubs are also G.A.C. I'll post pics tomorrow.

"GAC" (Garate, Anitua and Cia), founded in 1892, was established by Crispin Garate and Jose Francisco Anitúa who later joined Nemesio Astaburuaga and Eulogio Anitua. GAC bought the patent for an italian style bicycle, and as was the custom at the time he set up his own team of riders among them Jose Elortza "Jose Eibar" and Mardaras. These were some of the first Spanish cycling clubs, and set up local
races (tour of basque country?).
From what I can gather CAG was the spanish equivalent of Columbia, Huffy, or Schwinn, everyone learned to ride on them.
The company still exists but now manufactures stationary bikes and treadmills

Thanks for that great info! Here are some really s hi tty pics of it. I'll post some good ones tomorrow. I'll edit this post. The Headbadge reads GAC but the decals say Zeleris Sprinter. What type of tubing does the decal indicate. It's a seems to weigh a lot.

bigger rollers let you go faster (less resistance). that is a really, really cool set of rollers. usually used in roller race type situations (sans the stuff to hold you up). nyvelocity.com has pics of roller races in there somewhere.

Glad to hear that. I still haven't gotten it out of the truck but will tomorrow. Those bars that hold up he bike can and will be removed. One of the reason I got it was so I can improved my balance. I'll check out that site since it sounds cool. Thanks.

Does any one know where I can find a belt for this beast. When I got it, it had a piece of cord acting like a belt but it was useless. I have it set up with a piece of windshield washer hose that I managed to "splice" with a male-male plastic connector. I'm able to haul as s with that but I'm a bit concern if and when that connector fails. I've seen some universal Roller belts that require you to cut and weld to your size, but I have nothing of the sort to carry out the welding. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

well replacement belts are easily available for currently manufactured rollers...
i'd start looking there.

LOL. That seat cover is long gone. The actual seat is pretty cool though. It's a Concor Supercorsa. I've read some comments on how uncomfortable it was, but I have no such complaints. It's been comfy so far and it looks practically new, thanks to that "awesome" seat cover. LOL.
