A fellow on the Schwinn Forums has been posting images of bicycle related articles from an album that was given to him by a lady he did some work for. Her late husband apparently saved every article he ran across that pertained to bicycles. They range from the '50s to the '70s. Some interesting stuff ...

He's just getting started putting them up on Flickr:

Thanks for the links! Lots of interesting bits in those old clippings. Some are from newspapers, but others are from Mechanix Illustrated, and I would imagine also from Popular Mechanics and Popular Science.

The variations, adaptations and outright inventions shown are impressive. There's a lot to be said for a generation that cut its teeth on Tom Swift books and built crystal radios out of bits of trash.

I added the last of the articles on Flickr today! There is over 100 new ones on. I thought it would be a good time to finish scanning and getting them uploaded to Flickr, since people have some time off for the Holidays to read them. It took a lot of time to put all of these on and I really hope you enjoy them.
Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thanks,
Doug
