One of the regulars in the C & V forum has posted a link to some very interesting old AltBikes:

"A fellow on the Schwinn Forums has been posting images of bicycle related articles from an album that was given to him by a lady he did some work for. Her late husband apparently saved every article he ran across that pertained to bicycles. They range from the '50s to the '70s. Some interesting stuff ..."

Those are lovely. Most are very elegant. I liked the unrideable bike made by Bendix. I wonder if Bendix still has it.

Thanks for posting the links, - the strange thing is I remember seeing one or two of those bikes in old back numbers I found at junk stores and garage sales. I wonder what I did with them?

That's an interesting speculation about lamplighter bikes--I've a relative somewhere way back who supposedly was a lamplighter. It'd be cool to think that he was out there using a tallbike...
