What a piece of junk!!! I mean come on... shimano is the best hub out there!! Oh and then you need to get their disk brakes...another good option( wait it's not an option) then you need to get their flippy floppy levers... and ...ummm wait what am I saying? Hit me please someone!! HIT ME!
HAHA.. Sweet arss hub there buddy!! Is that for the wheel that is going on your dually once you get it? Better be! Cause when I move up there I don't want you to have any excuses so when you beat the piss outa me you can stop and say..."see I AM fast!"

Hey Mael, have you finally decided what frame you're getting?
Post a list of parts you have, and want. I'm curious.

Well I want a 6inch travel bike. The stinky is my number 1 choice as the bighit (my second choice) is only coming in longer travel versions for 2004. There are other bikes but I get these cheap. Ironhorse would be a contender if we had better dealers up here as it is sold by a sport supermart and I dont want to give them my money.
z150 Marz or the 2004 z1 (I found out you can remove the ect/ecc and stick in another rebound adjust or something, now I am excited)
Front wheel doesn't really matter as long as it is qr20 (Ryno Lites work for me on this one)
321d rear rim built onto a hadley hub
Diablous stem (stealing it from my roast)
Diablous seatpost (I have bent 4 seatposts this year)
no decision on handlebars at all (I am really not picky as long as it has a 2in rise)
Cranks - fsa vdrive with platinum bb
seat - one that fits
hayes 8in hydros
if I can find the x.7 sram drive train I would like to try it otherwise lx/xt drive train

What's your timeframe and budget for the frame? (In case I come accross a GREAT Deal!).

Bike will be bought by spring time at the latest. My season is just about done. 50% of the trails are closed due to this nasty dry spell we are having, so excluding the hadley I am just banking money to save. I should have enough money by december to make the purchase if need be (I am trying to get the money together earlier in case I find a great deal)
If I find a smoking deal on a frame in the 6in range for freeriding I would consider doing a peacemeal job but the stinky is a good deal from the getgo and thats why I decided on the full bike.
Thanks for the offer A2, muchly appreciated...

You did get a matching front hub did you not?
I ran Hadley/321's with 14g spokes all last season and never had to true them once until I wrecked hard at the start of this season.
Hey Mael, which Stinky are you looking at?

dbd,
The stinky's next year are pretty ugly. I love the primo frame but I don't like the saint stuff littered all over it or the price. I will end up with a basic stinky and a lot of already purchased custom parts :) The Stinky Deelux is pretty rotten too. The stinky Orange isn't too bad. If I can find a 2003 closeout I will probably grab that up since those frames are 'damn sexy'
No...no matchin front hub. May the bike gods stike me from my bike :D
hey mae, the new sram is great, i got the x.9 through my shop, but the x.7 is available for 85 bucks, which includes shifters/rear derraileur. its a much better system then crap xtr

Yeah but I live in whistler. This town sticks to parts that are easiest to find (whistler destroys bikes ;)) so something this new takes time to a) come up here and b) be reasonable enough to buy and c) takes time to get enough spare parts to make it worth my time to buy it.
I am sure itis great but it is going to be very hard for me to justify buying it (sorry slc) But wow...the x.7 sure is cheap. Nice !

What's this about I hear the new stinky's are ugly? Didn't we go threw this the other day and you changed your mind on the fact that they were actually sexy? You're loosin it! I'll come up there and smack ya. Especially on the SRAM stuff... you know you got me down here, I'll be more than happy to send some SRAM stuff! And you shouldn't need spare parts, and if you do... I'll send em to ya also! (might even give ya a tiny discount..haha)
(mael, I'm itchin for my stinky!Just gotta sell my AC frame, and maybe the fork that comes on the stinky.)

Well...hmmm....if I buy a whole bike then that upgrade will wait. If I do the frame thing then I will try my darndest to ride sram. Still want to get a good ride with those shifters to make sure I like them as much as rapid fire.

Better watch out TimB might come back to this thread and say well you should not ride sram cause he said so, and you should stay with Shimano and blah blah blah blah...
That's cool mael! If you need help with any parts, I can try and see what I can do for you!

Dry spells are a gift from god!!!!!! In Greece we have all trails Dry and all open! :D:D:D:D but then again we are used to both extremely low and high temperatures. Congrats on the Parts. Also the Z1dropoff2 is the fork you want mael. same as the Z1 but without ETA/ECC

Dude...I live in a rain forest...without rain...its death. I got a chance to ride the stiny deelux and Stab today and they were awesome. The Stab was a bit much and the stinky (18") was to small. But when seated there was very little pedal bob. I was impressed :)

I feel like I'm in a Rain Forest. We've had a TON of rain, and now have a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico (I'm on the western coast of FL) and they're predicting even more rain to hit our saturated area.
I rode Sunday, but with this rain, I'm guessing all the local trails will be under water.
