WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doesn't look like I have to bring anything, what time did you say dinner was again? :D
I'm thinking some Hot & Sour soup, General Tso's Chicken, maybe some Shrimp Toast.

Aw, that's sweet. Thanks. Somehow, I think that asking her to drive with me to the opposite coast and eat Thanksgiving dinner with a friend I know from the internet may freak her out just a tad. She just might be crazy enough to do it, though. I mean, the Taco Bell thing was her idea. :p

We have a very traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, etc.
One thing happens every year that gets me tickled. My mother makes some kind of oyster dish that no one eats. Mom then complains that she went to all that trouble and expense making that dish that everyone begs for and then no one eats it. She has yet to tell us who begs for it since none of us can force ourselves to eat it.
One thing has become a staple at Thanksgiving dinner over the last 10 years or so: Cool Whip. Last year I made fresh whipped cream for the pies and all the younger members of the family preferred Cool Whip.

Dunno. They're probably not open. I remember driving around last year (had not eaten all day and had not been to the store, and so had nothing to cook), and all I saw open were Oriental restaurants and Pizza Hut Express. Seriously. Not even fast-food was open. Nor were the grocery stores open. Didn't occur to me to check the bars (some around here have pretty good bar food).

When my aunt died my mom and dad brought home all the meat she had in her freezer. Mom, being the anal person she is, labeled Aunt Froni's meat so she'd know what was ours and what had come from her freezer. Why, it mattered I don't know.
Anyway they were hosting a dinner party a few weeks after the funeral....a friend opened the freezer and what was right in front of her eyes but a package labeled, "Froni's Liver". She slammed the door shut and said, "Ummm, Barb, there has to be an explanation for this but I'm not sure what it is."
