so I decided to try the cygolite tridenx. I looked around and ebay seemed like the best place, $230+10 ship. The day I got the go ahead from my other half, the price on ebay went up to $270 + free shipping....

So I got to thinking. I got a 20% off flier on Fri/Sat sale at performancebike. I called up the local store. They told me that they didn't stock the light, but could order it for me. Amazon has the light for $280, so the price match - %20 would put me at $224 + tax. That's right around what I wanted to spend. Plus I guess I could return it, if it sucks.

Does this sound like it will work? I would like to avoid driving to performance at 7 am for nothing :(

I am not sure that I understand the question, but you should be asking Performance or Amazon.

Sounds like a fine deal to me! It's what you want for the price you want, what's the holdup?

Lat time I asked Performance they refused to honor a coupon on a price match--they said it was one or the other. I've heard other people say they did it though, so I think it's the luck of the draw. Call and ask them first, and if they say OK get the name of the person and try to hold him/her to it when you go in.

Let us know how you like the light. I've been looking at that one too.
