i have a vintage dura ace group that im trying to sell and im wondering what would be the best way to do so. The group is of the vintage that had index downtube shifting, single pivot brakes, wobler tubular rims, etc. The group has everyting but the headset even down to the areo stem and post. It came on a pink/purple and green frame that is a rahleigh professional. Renolds 531, rahleigh stamped dropouts so on. anyone who has experience in the field please advise is much needed.
If you are looking to maximize your money, then parting is the way.
+1 on CV-6's comment, with the only question being whether the extra effort and trouble is worth it. If you part out, the frame will be your highest dollar item. Word of warning, and a piece of advice: that Dura-Ace group might not bring as much as you'd think. I have an '82 DA group on a bike and I keep my eye open for replacement parts, and compared to Campy of that era, prices are pretty low. The advice (based on subjective observation) is that the individual parts will bring you more, total, than the group ... but make sure to cross-reference your listings if you do it through eBay. Good luck.
You might make more selling each little piece in it's own auction, but do you want to deal with 10 or 15 auctions, and payments, and shipments? You might make less $ selling the group as a whole, but the lower headache factor might be worth it.

Would you please define "vintage Dura Ace group". Got some part numbers? 7400 series?

Since it's indexed, it would have to be 7400. Is it 7400, 7401, 7402? Who knows?
Pictures and an accurate description would go a long way.

If it's indexed, it's waaay too new for your Volare. Check your other thread. I think someone is offering you a period correct Dura-Ace group.
