OK, maybe he didn't actually compare his team's 1 touchdown loss to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor but to even invoke it in relationship to a stupid football game shows the overall intelligence level at that school.

C'mon, Nick... it's a FOOTBALL GAME and you lost by one touchdown. Will Alabama be fundamentally changed by losing a stupid game to a (much) lower ranked team? Will the networks pull out and stop funneling the millions of dollars to your salary? Will applications and/or attendance drop? Will the school's most prestigious professors depart for schools as a result of this "catastrophe"? Will the alumni stop supporting Alabama?

Well, OK, on that last one, maybe yes as long as this moron is the coach. But that would be a good thing.

Sheesh.

From what I understand about Alabama football if it had been Auburn he might have a point. :D

I wish the Dolphins would take this doofus back. I think he could cement the perfect season they're working on. :p

Losing to who? If he is going to use history thsi is more like the 300 Spartans wiping out the Persian Army, the whole 250,000 of them.

Or perhaps a clear win for the Texacans at the Alamo.

You obviously don't understand the SEC. Every time your team loses it's a disaster of historical proportions on par with the sacking of Rome.

You obviously are not from Alabama, son.

“It may be 9-11, which sort of changed the spirit of America relative to catastrophic events. Pearl Harbor kind of got us ready for World War II, or whatever, and that was a catastrophic event.”

Has a village reported its idiot missing, or has George W. Bush taken to ghost writing speeches?
