Does anyone know if the Dura Ace Optical Gear Display Indicator can be used with a Campy Ergoshifter?
Also are they sold separately from the STI levers? Thanks.

Bill- That's a really great question and no, I don't have a definitive answer for you.

But, I'm gonna GUESS that since Shimano and Campy actuation ratios are different, the answer would be no.

It would be great to hear from someone who has actually TRIED it.

That's exactly my GUESS too. Anybody want to fit a Shiftmate to the OGD to make it work with Campy shifters? :p

The Ergobrain computer has a gear display.

I carry my optical sensors on either side of my nose, Shimano Campy compatible.

I don't see why the Shimano Optical Gear Indicator wouldn't work on a Campy set-up. Even though the Campy shift ratios are different, they are very small and the Shimano indicator would still be able to 'indicate' which gear was being used pretty reliably.

Where would you put it, given that the cables are under the tape in the area where it would be most visible?

If you figure that out, you can probably pick one up for free at an LBS - they often set them aside given that many people don't want them on their bikes. I for example throw mine into the junk box when building.

I agree, they'll probably work.......but exactly where would you mount them?

I've seen some clear bar tape around before.
