That was pretty dam cool. Went to a wedding where the couple got out and strutted their stuff (not like this vid though). Go for it!
Me, well - I've always been quite "different" and my "wedding" song was from the Brain Salad Surgery album from Emerson, Lake & Palmer - "still you turn me on". It soooooooooo, uh, ooooooo confused my new inlaws (now ex inlaws of course) - that his mother talked to me about that wedding dance song at least 4 times if not more that evening - and more in the weeks thereafter. "Don't wedding dance songs have the words "I love you" in them or something?, I don't understand - what was that and why is there a skull on the album??".
ELP was awesome though. :D

Yeah, she's a keeper.
Mine wants to go get remarried in a Vegas chapel, by a preacher or JP dressed as Elvis... and webcast it so our families can watch! Not sure how we'll be dressed yet....
Maybe it was her idea!
The only way the boyfriend could convince me to get married would be with a night of satire poking fun at a "traditional" wedding, although I'd more prefer a song like NIN's closer for dramatic effect. :p

They sell packages in Vegas with elvis, chapel and everything included, even webcasting. You just have to show up with $300 and a desire to have an elvis wedding.
That's too easy for me. :p

Sounds more like the wedding night video. :p The question is, would you use the original version of the song, or the Richard Cheese version?

It was ok, but my friend's was better (IMO). Her's was to Rock Lobster, and she did the "dead cockroach" on the dance floor in the wedding dress.
Very Cool.

Nice dress. :D
That's awesome! Wish I could have seen that before my sister's wedding... bet she would have done it.

Lauren, I like your style. :D

sure:)

It's not something I've had to think about. :D
Another good option would be a heavy metal cover of one of the more classic wedding songs. People not expecting anything unusual when they hear the song name then they get surprised. Yeah, I'm all about making fun of silly traditions.

Nah... it's about the tackiness of the whole Vegas/Elvis thing.
Though, if they have a ready made package of that, that might be too easy or boring and we'll have to come up with something else.
Do guys get married wearing suits?
Sure they do! In fact I had the wedding I had always wanted - ala "Gone with the Wind", all my dresses were rented - including mine - all 6 tier hooped gowns, all different - and with pantaloons on underneath:p
Just loaded some pic as some people wanted to see them (course the marriage is long over, but still pretty pics). :D I've always been a tad different from other people ...

Yes, multiple chapels even have the elvis packages.
My boyfriend was also drawn to the tackiness of it, but I smushed his dreams like a bug under my shoe when I showed him how common it is. Better option is to pick the silliest place you can think of and pay a local JP or pastor to marry you there. Something like a furby convention! :p Or a brewery. Lots of fun and very different things if you use the imagination.

My wife and I always joke that if we ever renew our vows we'll walk down the aisle to the Final Countdown.

What, Highway to Hell isn't good enough for ya? :p Although if you choose Final Countdown, you could sport some *****in' mullet wigs.
