This may look familiar because I mostly copied this from an old post -
Time: 7:30 meet up, 8am roll time
Place: Stone Brewery in Escondido. Parking has been graciously offered by jsigone, about 1 block away. We'll drive up when ride is complete.
2235 Enterprise St.
Escondido, CA 92029
Route: 65 Mile with lots of good climbs, with an optional crack at the famous "Mt Murder" (notice the first spike)

For those of you who would like a lighter, easier ride, I came up with a Stone Lite route that can be seen here. (http://www.geocities.com/grumpypig/StoneLiteRouteslip.pdf)
I will be in Turkey (the country). I will raise a glass of raki in your honor.

I don't hate you. I've never had raki but reportedly it's no worse than ouzo which is no worse than pastis, which is no worse than licorice flavored kerosene. I'm sure it will be fine.

It would seem that lots of countries have a similar paint remover. If Turkey's application to the EU is ever accepted perhaps all the EU countries can standardize on a single such beverage - the Euroswill.

My goal was actually to "Go on a bicycle ride with Extort to witness this legendary climbing ability for a brief few seconds before he drops me like a ton of bricks and gets out of my sight".
You dropped me like spoiled cabbage at Palm Springs, goal accomplished :)
Unfortunately, I'm going to be back east on the 29th coming back on the 30th. :(
I'll take you up on that beer next time.

I'd love too, but the start line is 2 1/2 hrs from my house, that means I would have to leave at 5:00 AM to get there. That's not the real reason though, our local club is doing a ride I proposed, which I need to lead, it is a preview of the first half of Stage 7 of the Tour of California, we are going to ride up to where Aliso Canyon meets Angeles Forest Hwy. About the same mileage and climbing as your ride. The biggest difference being I can get out of bed at 7:00 and be at the start line by 8:00. I guess we will just have to carry this goal into next year.

I am only worried about you on the hills that have a long downhill leading up to the main climb!!! ;)
Actually, I think that it is just an easy way for me to be able to buy beers for you guys... cause it is the holidays, and everyone likes beer as a gift!

They have been talking about strapping a keg to my back... so you may get beer during the ride, but less weight in the keg means that I will go up the hills faster...

I think I will join you guys and get my socal BF group ride cherry popped...The route is not that bad it is like right in my back yard and ride it almost every weekend. The only hill i see as a potential problem is couser canyon but at least it has a flat spot half way up. So I guess count me as in
