Fifty Plus (50+) - Learned something new today at 50+!!!

Even at 50+ I'm thrilled that I still have the desire to continue to learn.

We're doing some last minute preparation for the arrival of 20+ folks tomorrow including the thorough house cleaning that comes along with it.

My wife taught me how to dust!!

After 40+ years of not having the detailed, thorough instructions from the Master taskmaster, my Mom, you would have thought I would have forgotten such tasks. I'm so happy to say that I'm a very quick re-learner. Gotta admit it's a lot like riding a bike.

Except now I need to go for a ride to clear out all this stuff out of my nose and lungs!!!

I pop mine off and soak it a while, then brush it. Sort of like teeth and Polident. I hope never to get them mixed up.

I learned you're not supposed to ride the upright vacuum cleaner like a Segway. :(

Kinda turned me off to the whole "cleaning" thing.

If I followed your example I'd NEVER get out.

Try some offroading and the bike will never look clean- and you will not be allowed back into the house to make it dirty- So No more hoovering and no more dusting.

LOL.....I like to refer to it as "conditioning". For over 30 years now, my wife has been slowly, and effectively, "conditioning" me to jump hoops and beg to her hearts desire. I should have seen this coming, but I didn't, until it was too late. Now I'm just a withering shell of the man I use to be, an obedient minion of a husband my wife has "conditioned" me to be, much like a high-tech dog of war for her militarilistic regime. :D

......so yes 'jppe', we should discuss the quantam mechanics of dusting.....(our wives would be proud)

I think you are understanding my sentiments!! I was even shown how to spray the Pledge on the cloth and on directly on the furniture!!!!!

And I got caught for spraying it directly on the furniture after having being warned not to several times..........

My wife has given me up as hopeless, she wrote me off years ago. She can't understand how I can be so meticulous with my bikes and so uncaring about the house.

I recently read that men don't see small things (read: dust particles) as well as the ladies do, and that is why they neither care about dusting nor are very good at it. Sounds good to me!

Oh puh-lease, guys. If I can clean and lube a grubby, greasy bike, you can do a bit of dusting. I'm doing both tonight since my bikes are kept in the living room and company will of course, want to admire them tomorrow during the festivities. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Maybe you're on to something. Maybe it's just a foreshawdoing of the "dusting" I'll be eating from getting easily dropped from the packs next year........
