I just got a wheelset (Mavic Ksyrium SL). I got the tires mounted, installed the cassette, and finally put the wheels on the bike, when I took the bike down from the stand I heard a rattle from the front wheel specifically from the hub. I checked to make sure everything was tight. It was.
In a moment of desperation, I installed the skewer from the old wheel. The rattle stopped. Then, I installed the new Mavic skewer on my old wheel and the rattle followed the skewer.
My impression is that this is a problem only with the skewer. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Do you think it could be a problem with the hub? I want to get some feedback and advice before I call Nashbar.
