View Full Version : modding a Dahon Boardwalk 1 for different stem/bars?

Here's the one I'm looking at:

I've seen some others with a telescoping stem/steerer but that does not appear to be the case here.

The bars/stem are integrated, but would it be possible to do drop bars by, say chopping the steerer/stem below the taper, then bolting on a stem riser and a traditional threadless stem?

I'm not really interested in aero bars. MTB Bar ends would be easy enough to add though I guess.

Origin8 makes bar end drops - "Pro-Pulsion Road Ends". That would be easier and cheaper. Uglier though.

Yeah, those clamp on drops kind of make my eyes hurt. I tend to ride on the lever hoods a lot so I would prefer real road drops with levers if it's doable.
