My wife and I recently order a da Vinci tandem for next years riding season. As snow looms in Michigan, we decided to start posting our Burley Rumba on some classified sites on the Web. I was approached by “Paul Evans” to purchase our Rumba. He offered me a fair price and included shipping costs. HE was going to send me a cahiers check and I was to cash the check, and the forward funds to a shipping agent of his choice. After checking out the email address on the web I found out it was a scam (http://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/frown.gifNigerian 419 scam) Beware if you are selling anything on the web, that there are many scams out there. Be very wary of any purchases with cashiers checks. A cashier check will clear in 24 hours, but it takes two or more weeks for it to clear the system and you may still have a bad check. The initial 24 hours is used just to verify that the check is valid but does not confirm authenticity or if funds exist. always be aware of anyone that uses the following email addresses: paulevansz9@hotmail.com or globalshippingcoy@representative.com
