I have three Dahon Mariner bikes. Two are about a year and a half old and one is almost 5 years old.

6 spokes broke on the rear wheel of the 5 year old and about as many in each the front and back wheels of one of the 2 year old's. In addition, the tires disintegrated on the one with no bad spokes.

I am disappointed in the performance of the wheels.

Can anyone offer suggestions as to what wheels can be used to replace the stock wheels and where to obtain them?

I can offer a recommendation for Gaerlan custom cycles. He built a new rear wheel for my Presto recently. He did exactly what I had requested quickly and for a fair price. This may not be the right place for bargain basement pricing, but my expect my wheel will provide better service that the machine built wheels normally provided with Dahon bikes.

They are at: www.gaerlan.com/

No relation, just a satisfied customer.
