A friend of mine just got online and we started to talk. She told me she was in Florida with her whole family for the holiday and began to tell me how she was making tacos for dinner.

I was thinking "How fun" and told her such...

Then she continued to tell me that she heard someone fall, it was her grandma. She fell on her face, from a heart attack. Her son (my friends father) was pumping on her chest, while she was bleeding...EMS came, took her to the hospital. She passed away...

They have a "famous grandma apple pie" to eat...

How horrible :(:(:(:(

Wow, that horible. Makes you think about time in a different way when you see death. I seen my uncle go through dying from cancer for 4 years and sadly it took his death for me to make some changes. My thoughts are with your friends family and I am truly sorry.

:(:(:(

How sad :(

I was going to be the usual martyr cause I get antsy and prefer to leave after a short amount of time and blah blah, don't like confinement - houses are always too hot, blah blah, but after living w/my Mom the past couple of years (hey, I rented out my apartment - we owned a double - to save money) and then splitting off and am renting from a friend - and now seeing Mom on a semi-regular basis versus everyday - Mom's different, subtle too. She backed into someone at the mall two weeks ago - TOTAL NOT MOM, and she relies totally on one driving route - any deviations, even one street - confuse. :( Losing 10 lbs off a 95 lb frame :( Ugh, other stuff too.

So the martyrdom goes away and I'm going to the family dinner.

I hope I go like that. Much better than suffering with a long illness.

The trauma to the family is horrible, but at least she got to make that last apple pie. Take care of yourself Timmy.

Well, at least in her last moments she was with family... Can't ask for much more than that.

So sorry - I know how you feel.

On the way to the train station on Wednesday I passed a small crowd in front of a construction site when they were bringing someone out giving CPR into an ambulance. By the looks it didn't look too good. Apparently they fell from the top of the crane (looked about 8 stories up). Started shaking a bit on the train when I realized how some family was eagerly awaiting their dad home after work and won't. :(
