Anybody tried one of these? I don't plan to, just curious. The big pitch for them seems to be rust resistance. My regularly cleaned and lubed SRAMs never develop rust so why change and spend 2-3 times the price? Maybe on mtb?

Rainman, How ironic.I just posted something about these chains on a thread in commuting not 5 minutes ago.I'm close to needing a new chain and I contemplated one of the Wippermann chains but just couldn't bring myself to part with $50 for a chain.I ordered a Sram pc69 instead for $20.

Hmmm, stainless steel? I always thought/was told the parts that caused all of the wear problems were the BRASS bushings between the pins and rollers. The wear and consequent thinning of the bushings is what really causes "chain-stretch".

doo DEE doo doo, doo DEE doo doo (does that sound like the theme from "The Twilight Zone." To make it even more so, Paige, I just ordered a new PC69 yesterday myself. I looked at the Wipperman's as a curiosity. I think "Bicycling" even had a little blurb about them in the latest issue. I'm with Pat; wear is wear. Rust is not even an issue on my chains. If the chain is harder, the cogs will probably wear faster.

Somebody buy one and give us a report. :D I'm usually the guinea pig for this sort of thing, but this one does not strike my fancy so I will pass.

The SRAM 6-series chains are extremely long-lasting, and they never seem to rust.
