Southern California - Do you bike in Los Angeles? Survey for school project

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

As a student of Transportation Geography at UCLA, I am conducting a survey to help us research ways in which the Los Angeles area is or is not bicycle-friendly in order to further understand how to make Los Angeles more accessible for bicyclists. You can use the context of the area you predominantly bike, but please indicate where this is. Please feel free to elaborate as much as you like.

Of course, if this isn't kosher, I can close it. I tried looking for a moderator for this forum but there seems to be no mods assigned but rather a group of mods checking all the sections. I figured this would be a good forum to survey seeing how everyone is a bike advocate here. Anyways, I appreciate those who can take their time to respond, I tried to keep it short even though it seems so long.

edit: Some information about me. My name is Chris Lin and I am a geography major at UCLA. The class itself is Transportation Geography with Brian Taylor (Geography M149/Urban Planning M150). As for the project itself, we are suppose to do an analytical memorandum on a selection of topics given to us. The topic we decided was bicycling in Los Angeles. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Before I answer your questions, please tell me who you are, whatl UCLA class you're doing this for, the name of the professor for this class. None of this is apparent on your survey link.

Thanks, Chris, for the info. I'll take the survey for you in a bit. I'm at work now and can't take the time, but I'll try to do it today. :)

No problem, knew I was missing something. I even spent around half hour rewriting the survey to be put in the forum and I forgot my own information :(

Don't worry. It's a tough crowd because we get trolls from time to time. So folks just want to know with whom they are dealing. I just did your survey and I hope I provided some useful info. I'm not a bike commuter, however, and I hope those on here who are will take the survey as well. They will have better insight into the information you are seeking. Good luck! :)

Thank you, I just received it. That was my initial thought I was, that's why I felt stupid when I forgot to add something really basic in my post. As for who takes the survey, it doesn't really matter if you are a bike commuter or not, I was hoping that question four would help us differentiate that since we didn't have a question asking what you used biking for (which is when you told me :D).

edit: dddave, haha
