Do you users have to (re)aim the light head every time you install the mount on your bike and if so, does it get annoying to have to do it every time? Do you ever wish you had a solid mount that you could just slide the light head onto? Last, has anyone had the o-ring snap due to multiple installations/removals?

I searched this forum for (indirect) answers to the first two questions but couldn't find much. I ask because I'm basically deciding between a Minewt, a 200L and a L&M Stella and the mount seems to be the major difference between the first two and the Stella.

It's up to you.

I find that I've gotten used to where to mount the lights so that they're aimed correctly. The o-rings are quite robust, and I don't see them breaking unless I stretched them much farther than is necessary to mount the light, but a spare is included with each light. I like not having clamp on quick-mounts on my bike when I'm not using the lights, and with getting used to the proper aiming position for them, the time it takes to put them on becomes minimal.

Edit: Concerns Dinotte

The dinotte o-rings isn't as fast as a snap on bracket with the light. The light does need to be adjusted everytime you put it on.

It would be nice to have an option to mount it on a standard light bracket and have it just slide on/off.

The o-ring mount allows the light to be moved while riding. I can point it closer to the front wheel when doing group rides, or up to get more distance.

I just mount it and then correct the aim in the first 30 seconds of riding. Easy.

The o-ring works great with my Campagnolo cables that are both under the bar wrap. I can slide the o-ring between the cables and the bar, near the stem. There's not much room there for a mechanical clamp. And it's mounted where the bar diameter is changing to the oversize center diameter of the bar. A clamp would have trouble mounting there.

Yes, I sometimes have to re-aim. But it is easy enough to do while riding I don't find it annoying at all.

No, one of the main reasons I like the Dinotte's is that when I take them off nothing is left behind on my bars.

+1

It takes seconds to mount, and if it isn't aimed right you can nudge it while riding, and when you take it off there is nothing left on the bars.

Before I got it, I wasn't sure about the O ring mount, but now that I've used it I really like it.

I've got the Niterider Minewt Dual. I've found that I'm pretty good at putting it back on so that it is aimed nearly perfectly. I've taken it off and on 10 or so times now with no issues but I store my bike inside so I don't need to remove it very often. Some people have had issues with the o-rings snapping pretty quickly on it though, so it is definitely a concern.

I love the o-ring mounts personally, makes it easy to put the lights on any bike I want.
