Does it make a difference to the shopworkers weather one pays online or instore price? I went to the shop this afternoon looking or the 'T' type HB fixture that allows a rider to mount a couple of lights and/or computer. I found it there for $14.99. At the register the shop dude says ,"you're in luck, we have like a 20% sale today". I said, "if like I was that lucky, you'd charge me the $9.99 price that's posted online". So he said, "like ok, let me look it up to verify the price". I said, "like no problem". He looked it up then said," you're right, like it's only $9.99".
So I got about 30% off which is better than like 20%! The guy had no problem with the deal it seems. But I wonder if they like lose commission or somethin'!

You should have demanded 20% off of $9.99! :D
Don't know about their commission structure, but I can tell you I've had the same experience in the Ventura store several times. They will always look up the price online if you think it's better and make the same deal. Probably because Performance has a new price posted EVERY 35 SECONDS! and they don't want to get people mad.

Next time I'm going up there to pick you up first. If I had taken you with me, I would have saved another 2 Dolluhs!:o

They won't honor the online sale price AND the % discount instore sale. Tried today for a new set of Egg Beaters for the wife. Apparently it's an either or sale. Had some issues to that effect on a new bike for my daughter today as well. Gave my money to Bicycle Discovery next door instead...

I went to Perf once looking for sunglasses...the same sunglasses I've been buying for about a year now (new pair every 3 months or so) for the sale price of $24.99. I go in, and they're at their regular price of $40-something.
I say to the guy, "These things were on sale last week, and will probably be on sale next week..."
He says, "They're not on sale now."
So I left....been bitter to Perf ever since.
Moral of the story, if you find the sale price online, print out the page and bring it with you. They'll honor that and you won't irk the people behind you in line while you make the monkey* look it up online.
* 'monkey', in the instance, refers to a button-pusher. Not trying to imply that the Perf employee has a prehensile tail and eats bugs out of his co-workers' hair.

Don't be an a**. Performance employees definitely do not have prehensile tails.

I wish I had a prehensile tail. Or opposable big toes. I always wanted to brush my teeth, shave, and comb my 'do at the same time.

I am pretty sure they allow you to buy more than one pair at a time. :p

Since Mo's married, I'm guessing he has a house rule of "no receipt required if purchase is under $25".

Performance pricing is a little strange they can have several different prices depending on what your looking at. I have seen 3 different prices for the same part. Online price, printed add and shelf prices that also had a special store discount. You can take any of them you want and they will use it. They will also match any other store or online price you find for the same part as long as its in stock.
Many times the person at the store will not have the latest prices or special discounts so you need to have it with you.
