I had my bike in the shop for the deraillers to be adjusted, but the problem still continues. When upshifting, from the small ring to the middle, sometimes the chain will jump all the way off the inside of the crank, onto the frame. I have Ultegra on the bike. They have tried to fine tune adjust for it, and it has improved, but it did it once yesterday, again. What do I need to adjust to stop this? The inner and outer settings seem to be as close as possible. Whey isnt it getting fully on the middle ring?

It sounds like you have a triple crankset. First, make sure you have a triple front derailleur. If the LBS has already adjusted the derailleur, then it sounds like you're not shifting properly. Shimano triple levers have a trimming position that moves the derailleur somewhat between the small and middle ring to keep the chain fron rubbing in the middle ring/large cog combo. In order to upshift cleanly you need to push the lever in quickly all the way. Listen for 2 clicks. If you stop after you hear only one click then you're stopping in between rings, causing chain suck. I used to do it when I first got my bike. It took me a few days to learn how to shift properly. It hasn't happened since.

Thanks for the advice. It has had me baffled. I bought the bike used, so I wasnt very familiar with Ultegra shifters. Im sure the adjustments are fine. Ill pay attention to it on tonights ride, and hopefully that'll be it. Thanks again.
