Foo - I learnt something today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Audiobooks are good ONLY for listening in the car. Put it in your MP3 player, odds are you are going yo fiddling with something else and lose track. Put it on your computer, odds are you are going to be browsing foo and lose track of the story.
I don't know that they'd even be good for that, at least for me. My mind would wander, I'd focus on driving for a while (the horror!), I'd start thinking about something, and a few minutes later, I'd realize that I hadn't been paying attention for quite some time.
The only audiobook I've ever tried (Wells' The War of the Worlds), I got about halfway through it by listening to a chapter or two before bed at night. I felt incredibly lame sitting there idly listening to a book instead of sitting there reading one...
The best place for an audio book I can think of was when I got an MRI. Was in a small tube, unable to move for a good hour or so... other than that, I confess I don't really understand either.

I find that the audiobook has to be entertaining. Moneyball was great, so good that I wanted to drive a little south of my NJ(my destination) into PA and back so that I could finish hearing the book, but 'a brief history of time' was far too technical to be an auidobook.
