Hello,

I was curious if anybody out there has tried to match an internal geared hub to a non-standard shifter. In particular, has anyone tried to mate a modern internal 7 speed hub to either a downtube or mtb thumbshifter?

Thoughts?

The indexing for the Nexus hub is in the shifter, so I suppose it could be done. You may get into an expensive scenario unless you are or know a machinist...

I saw a guy in town with SA hub gear which had 2 control cables to 2 d/t shifters. Never seen that hub before, If I see him again Ill ask how.

The Sachs Spectro 7 has the indexing in the click-box, so may be a better model for you.
