Being a newer (fewer post) BF lurker I decided to embark upon a special training program for the upcoming season. Now I must warn you this is not for the faint of heart and takes real dedication. Do not attempt this ever.

My theory was simple. I will enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving Day feast with my family and friends. Mix in a few rides and viola..one highly motivated and energized cat. This was no "last minute " gorge fest. My training for this meal began shortly after my end of season veg-a-thon. Going to the gym, cardio , weights, indoor riding when my daytime job ran late. I was ready.

Since I am no cook, I examined some of the ingredients, stuffing starts with bread crumbs, turkey, pumpkin is a vegetable, potatoes, and fruit salad. Sounds pretty good and full of energy. What I did not foresee was what can happen to those ingredients during the "battle of the best dish". Pumpkin turned into three types of pie including a cheesecake version that should be illegal. Breadcrumbs are mixed with gosh knows what to make a 2lb filler. I was losing my battle to remain conscious after the 3rd straight movie. Hmm...Maybe this won't work? Maybe that quick ride Thurs am wasn't enough. Not too fear .Friday I will ride some more...

Oh wait there is the post turkey day lunch buffet..This is not looking good. Another ride to try to offset this setback. Now I have leftovers fri night just to revisit my favorites (pumpkin cheesecake). I have now figured out what is in "stuffing", it is crack..How else can it be so addictive?

I decide sat morning to test the impacts of my decisions. I meet a few of my friends that are doing one of those OC "casual-base-miles-rip-your-legs-off" rides. I knew I was in trouble when the pack surged a couple times during the 27 mph warm up and I immediately said my good byes. Perfect day to ride by myself anyway.

I still have one more day to begin an immediate hunger strike. I know that fitness can be gained, plus the upside is that I am faster on the downhills. So there doesn’t need to be any pity. I tested the impacts of Thanksgiving Day feast vs cycling so that others may learn.

Gotta run the ol microwave is just about done. Have fun out there kiddies
