Fun episode.

The contestants had to bike a goat (which was loaded into a milk crate), two 5-gallon jugs, and some other packages all via a bicycle to market. They were busy strapping everything to the bike and then they biked to the market looking for the particular store to trade their goods for the next clue.

I don't think they had to travel very far--maybe a half mile or so.

The bikes were well equipped with racks, fenders, and kickstands. :D

The part I'd like to see is trying to get a goat into a milk crate.:D

I saw that one last night. It was funny watching some of the contestants trying to load everything on their bikes. Utility cycling is a way of life there.

The one person got it all loaded up and then walked the bike--I don't think she thought it could be balanced if she rode it. :o

From what I saw, I think the well-to-do had bikes and that most just walked. There were lots of huts close by. I think they lived there. There weren't any parking lots for cars and the roads were dirt. That place was very poor.:(

Still, the kids looked pretty darn happy!:)

My wife commented on that. Even though the people living there were "poor" by more industrialized world standards, she noticed that they seemed happy. And, hearing some of the comments from the contestants on how friendly the people were, made us realize even more that all of our material possessions and modern conveniences don't necessarily bring happiness.
