View Full Version : I'm in the Hospital!

Fortunately, they have wireless internet, so I won't go completely insane

I had a little problem, not to get too graphic, but I am going to have to have surgery to correct a rectal prolapse (I blew around a foot of intestine out of it!). I'll be off the bike and stuck in hospital for a bit. :(

If you've ever seen the weight lifter pic that's so gross, you'll get the picture and NO ONE needs to post it.

Oh dude....that sounds quite rough. Sorry to hear it.

Is it in anyway related to the bariatric surgery?

I'm hoping this is a hoax, like when you and chip pulled that one awhile back. If not, then best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I really wish it was a hoax! I'm in hospital and I ain't kidding!

KT, it does appear to be related to massive weight loss. I lost some of the structural support around the Sigmoidal Colon and SURPRISE, a foot log party favor from the wrong end!

Ok...I think I can honestly say....that's not my idea of a party! I think your gonna have to make some changes before I make it up North someday and party with all the northerner BF folks.

That must've been a fun time in admitting.

Nurse: "So whatsamattawitchu?"
Tom: "Yeah, so ummm...uhhh...it's like this...there's this thing hanging where I never had anything hanging before..."

Get better soon!

Now that you've had enough sympathy and frowny faces, I'll just add that all this is is progress from losing all that weight, so in a way it's a good thing. Enjoy the pain killers, and just be glad it didn't happen when there was nice weather!

Actually, I'm just really happy it didn't happen up on the UP while I was out in the Big Woods! I can just imagine the trouble I'd have been in 30 -50 miles from help and no cell

Tom, I can only imagine how painful your situation is! Thank goodness it did not happen in the boonies far away from help. If it had to happen I suppose it was best now. Corrective surgery and then out there again on the bike ASAP!

I hope you get well soon and everything turns out well! Intestines hanging out, narcotics on board, and you still post! Damn Tom you are one tough son of gun!
