It's time for my certificate! I wanted to make sure I was well past the 100lb mark before I posted.

Starting weight 360lbs.
This morning 243lbs.

Next stop 200! I know that the more I lose the harder it will get, so I can't expect to keep losing it at the same rate. I'm hoping to be under 225 by April 1st and 200 by the middle of next summer. I would be great if it happened faster, but the less I have to lose the slower it will get.

I haven't really stalled out yet. I thought I was stalling lately, because I've been sick and haven't been able to work out. Turns out I've lost 7lbs while lying on the couch being sick with a cold for the past week.:eek: I just keep at my daily routine of eating 6-8 times a day and making sure I get in an hour of exercise 6 days a week. I try to eat a lot of fruit and veggies and whole proteins and try to stay away from the processed stuff.

For those that have stalled out, or thing they have. Change up your routine and very carefully check your intake for a week to see what has changed. I hit a plateau and couldn't find the problem. Found out I was snacking more than I thought and was cheating myself.

Also remember that you may be building muscle and removing fat, so you may only see inches disappear. I lost around the waist, but not enough for me. I want to get under 200 pounds and be back into 32 jeans comfortably. I think I have that in me, I just need to push myself.

Anyone can do it. Watch your intake and increase the water intake if you are at all dehydrated you will not be helping yourself.

As you increase in fitness and drop in weight, your caloric necessities change. What worked for your weight loss at say, 28.8% bf (my starting point) won't necessarily keep working when you reach 20% bf. Take new baseline measurements if you're stalled out, and re-adjust from there.

I started late April '07 so it's been 7 months.

That's an average of over 14 pounds per month. That's astounding!!! Congrats.

I lost about 70 pounds in the first year...and have struggled up and down since (lot of it due to having one issue or another knocking me off the bike every time I start to get "in the groove").

I shoot for 4 a week and end up averaging 3-4, so that's about right. Now the question is, can I keep it up as I have less to lose. I've also added jogging into my weekly routine and throw a few brick(run/bike) workouts in also. I've found that changing up what I do keeps the weight coming off.

Nice work! I started around the same time and have lost 84#, I've stalled for the last two weeks at 204# but that followed a big week of 4# (I think my gym's scale was miscalibrated, no way I lost 4 that one week). Next stop 200# and then who knows...Thanksgiving wasn't as tough as halloween, damn you sweet tootsie rolls!

Losing large amounts of weight isn't impossible for a large, active guy. I reached the century mark after 9 months. Caincando obviously is a 'can do' fellow.

There are some drawbacks to rapid weight loss. I've noticed that my tail bone can get irritated if I sit wrong and my ears get sore when I sleep (no fat padding on the side of my head any more). Not to mention the loose skin, oh my, the lose skin. I can only hope and pray that it tightens up, but I think that might be a futile hope.

Nice job Neil, 100lbs in 9 months is great.

I get colder easier and can't sit for long lengths of time due to my butt being bonier than ever.

Caincando,

Thanks. It was 111 pounds in a year, and 143 in 19 months. The bike helped me get rid of the additional 30.

A friend of mine has reported he's seen some excess skin shrinkage since he's lost his 250 pounds. And I fell a little tighter. (I've also fallen off the wagon over the past two months, but that's changing too.) If you give it time, you will see tightening.

In my case, the main changes I've noticed are:

- I feel the cold more than I used to. Of course, perhaps it's because I get out in the cold more.

- My scoliosis is a heck of a lot more noticeable. All that extra fat helped cover up the curvature. Before I looked like a jelly donut; now I look like a crescent roll.

- Likewise I get irritation when I sit wrong, and I often sit wrong.

- I've never had the sore ears problem, since I sleep on my back, but I do sometimes get loose skin folding under me in bed. Likewise it's a problem in the saddle.

- I will be having several moles removed on my back, and there's so much loose skin the surgeon doesn't think he'll need to graft. (He also thinks my gynecomastia can be removed in the same procedure - "They're almost nothing but skin sacks now" the surgeon said - but insurance won't cover it.)

I also lost my optional arctic insulation package ;) I freeze in cold weather!

I have trouble with jeans, I don't have enough butt to keep them up even with a belt.

One side effect of massive weight loss is why I wound up in the hospital,, my butt falling OUT!

Yeah, that leads me to another problem. I rode in street clothes this Sunday. The seats of my pants are baggy because I've still got a 46 inch waist, but I don't have the butt to go with it. However, I'd rather have the baggy seat than be fat(ter).

Cain, that is amazing! I had no idea you'd lost so much, so fast. It's noticeable in that picture, even from September.

Impressive! Keep it up - you'll reach your goal.
