My friend just got his 2003 Dirt Jumper 3 upgraded from a 4inch(100mm give or take) to a 5inch and said that I could use his old springs on my 80mm Z4 2001 and upgrade it to a 100mm. It is possible to upgrade my fork to 100mm but will his springs work? he seems to think so. i think other wise.

I don't see how. The stanchions are different sizes. 32 mm for the 03 and 30mm for the 01 I believe. I am not 100% sure thogh

Yep you are correct Maelstrom, and superjoe95. However providing it is available you may be able to purchase a travel change kit for your 01 Z4.

I believe to convert from 80mm to 100mm you just have to change the top out springs. My LBS does this regularly.

I bow to your excellence. This is the best attitude for the times we are all getting pissed with components and fittings. I have the same attitute more or less on HiFi and computer hardware installations. I ve been setting up networks/computers/homecinema systems for nearly 10years as a hobby, i am so fed up some times that i would like to PAY someone to do it.
