BMX - Dan's Competition???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This is great.... Iam actually doing research for work regarding bikes. Since I don't know much about the BMX market (I'm a roadie), I need good 'dirt' on Dan's Competition bikes. Are they any good, or not? What is their price range for a decent bike? Does anyone on this forum have one, or know anyone that does? If so, are you/they happy with it? Etc, etc, etc......
The reason for this research is because one of our companies that we have stock in (Alloy, Inc.), just acquired Dan's.
Any info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Marcy

To me it sounds like your asking about bikes made by Dan's Comp. I didn't know they made them, but they could. I thought they just sell them. And I've heard it's a good place to order from, but that would suck.

Hey, Dans Comp the company does not make bikes but their other company Poverty sells bikes...They're for people who are poor (name)...Dans Competition is a bike ordering magazine thats good for people who dont have bike shops around them....Only use it if you cant find the part u need or are just looking around...

Where else do I find a pair of Adidas Dave Mirra shoes, a Dr. Pimper t-shirt, and a Dr. Pimper visor? I would like to get all three. Damn it all for the sake of unemployment. Or something. Translation: It sucks big cocka not having a job.

About Dan's Comp:
Being the Mom of a serious biker, there is no other place that I or the kids I know would rather deal with than Dan's. Poor people?? Yeah right! Unless one makes a hundred grand a year then one must be considered poor. My son is an extreme street biker as is his friends. They are teens not little kids riding sidewalks.
Dan's not only offers a large selection and fast shipping but exceptional customer service.
You can order online or you can request any of their catalogs. You can even ask them questions about any product that they carry. So what if they do not make them but shoddy merchandise is not what they carry. My son and friends, order from here religiously.
Please see for yourself. If you do not like the site then don't order. I ordered my son a nice freestyle bike (ONLY 400$) with about 300$ in parts for last Christmas and by the time I sent my money order the bike was at my doorstep, within a week. And this was shortly before Christmas. Everyone has their own opinions and everyone is intitled to them but please do see for yourself.
Happy Holidays
Tone a Mom of a very serious biker

I live on the west coast in Canada and getting bike parts up here is a pain in the a$$...I've used Dan's several times and they have been great...I've heard on other sites that they can be a real hassle like shipping used parts instead of new, screwing up the shipments etc...Any ways I've never had a problem...Tx fr8train
