I have the Fenix L2D CE Premium Q5 version using it helmet mounted. I love this flashlight but am wondering if a different reflector would be even better.

First of all, I have read some comments about different reflectors but am unfamiliar with them and thus confused; also do not know what the options are, if any.

The spill is wider than a 2-lane country road and the beam is good and strong.

I am wondering if a different lense would decrease the spill and strengthen the beam; and whether that would be an improvement or if I would be just as happy the way it is?

Trevor at fenix store replied:
"I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your light! We don't have any thing that can tighten the beam more than it already is I'm afraid."

I don't know how the light is built, but the guy clearly said there is nothing he provide to tighten up the beam. Google 'candlepowerforums'. They have members that have alot of experience with flashlights.

Take a look at : http://flashlightlens.com/

One way you could increase the beam throw is to use an aspheric lens instead of a different reflector. It concentrates the hotspot, like using a magnifying glass in bright sun.

Also, search candlepowerforums.com about replacement reflectors for your model of Fenix light. If you have an textured reflector, a polished reflector would strengthen the hotspot and decrease spill a bit.

Whoops. No more aspherics at flashlightlens.com. If you got to CPF, a search for "aspheric lens" will bring up a few threads.
