Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - ForeRunner 305, Edge 305

I have an edge 305 for my bike, but my wife is getting me a Forerunner 305 for my Triathlon training.

The Question is, will the Heartrate band, cadence and speed hookups for the Edge 305 that I already have work with the Forerunner 305 or will I need to get the Cadence and speed sensors designed for the Forerunner?

I think they should. There's a function to pair the device to accessories like the ones you have.

When I moved up from a FR 305 to an EDGE 305, I had to get another HR strap. The EDGE 305 would not "recognize" the FR 305 HR strap.

Don't know if the incapatibility is bi-directional.

The forerunner and the edge 305 both use the gsc-10 cadence / speed sensor. Why wouldn't you just go to the Garmin website and get the information. They also use the same heart rate monitor

my hr strap works with both... yes i have both..

FYI the new 605 and 705 appear to use the same cadence and HR sensors/transmitters as well.
