Do all the fifth generation, 30gig iPods come with those old headphones? I'm not sure but I think the ones with Johnny Depp (Jack Sparrow) on the front might come with the newer ones; could anyone clarify that for me?

Bear with me, these pictures aren't showing up right. Just click the links.

Old lookin' headphones:

This is on the front of the box, not the sillohette of a guy singing against a blue background:

New headphones (the ones I like most):

Thanks for the help!

aww man, I can't beleive you just went and spilled all that PICKLE JUICE in this thread.
Seems like a perfectly good waste of PICKLE JUICE here.
You should save some of that PICKLE JUICE for a good thread, not this one.

I still have some relish I haven't lost yet. We can use that for the next one.

The Nano that was sold at the same time as the previous-generation full-size iPod came with the new-style buds. I would imagine both came with the same.

HINT: throw out those buds as soon as you find them and get a good pair of real headphones. The buds are okay, but not that great

Hickeydog is spot on. Get some Bose plugs or Sony bugs, or some closed ear, whatever. the Apple ones have NO bass.

If you are listening to your iPod at home, buy some real cans. Otherwise, find some decent Sony midrange earbuds.

Other than the ones that came with the Zune, Sony, or Creative products, I've found most earbuds are junk, and even if you have a top notch player, it will not sound good.

What more do you want? I told you that other iPods sold at the same time came with the new style. I can't imagine anyone would know specifically which kind of earbuds came with a specific type of packaging.

Also, as many others have pointed out, they aren't great in either case. :) Though I've definitely heard worse earbuds. *shrug*

I believe they do not, as it must be the Generation "5.5" A simple test is if your iPod has the search feature. If it does, it is a 5.5. Also check out this thread and site:

They don't have the old style headphones anymore unless you are buying an iPod that is a mini and before(something like that). So, yes videos and others up till now have the "newer" version.

The 30GB 5.5G does. the 30GB 5G doesn't. I don't like the headphones anyways, get some real ones.

How do I tel which is the 5.5 when buying it?

The 5.5 has a search function. The 6 has cover flow, and is thinner than the 80GB 5.5 for the same size.
