Hah hah....they added the 200L but it's the Lithium one....not the AA NiMh one that was 100 bucks last month....I missed that sale because I was out that weekend and have been waiting for it to come again....
I almost purchased the taillight but my Planet Bike SuperFlash has been fine on the bike paths I ride at night...the 140 would be gross overkill since there are no vehicles...even the 200L might be overkill but it HAS to be better than my UltraFazer!!!

I think I prefer AA for the tailight better because then you can always be sure your 'butt' is covered knowing if the batteries are low you can always get AA's anywhere.

I am cheezed they don't have the 200L AA unit. I was short on fundage and got the tail light for $100 USD last month. This sale is +$8 more.
Can't wait for the 200L to go on sale again. I want the helmet unit with tail light on sale WITHOUT the batteries and charger. Heck I can settle on the 200L without mini tail light as well if it's on sale with helmet mount So I got the best of both world of mounting on the bars or helmet.
Damn good price last month and I'm not sure we'll see that roll around for a long time (unless I'm wrong).

Note that the 200L doesn't come with the 2nd battery, helmet mount or extension cable. Still a good deal though, I've got one on the way.

Is there a reason why most people on this forum prefer aa batteries to the 2 cell battery? I was reading another thread where they were comparing dinotte, stella and minewt to each other, but all seem to have the AA option. Is there an advantage to AAs? Is it because they're readily available? Or just personal preference?
I was going to buy the minewt x2 because it came with rechargeable batteries. After doing some research it seem like the dinotte 200L was a better light. I bought the 2 cell rechargeable cheaper than the minewt x2!

I bought the 200L because of the price but if I get another one for my helmet I'll probably get the AA version if the 200L isn't on sale. Most of my lighting troubles in the past have been because of batteries going bad. With AA's I can just buy more at the local Best buy or Fry's and be ready to go.

Got the 200L after riding and tumbing into a large pile of leaves in the street in the rain last Monday. I have a Fenix on the helmet and a Planet Bike Alias on the handle bars, but the rain, glasses, lights shining in my eyes from on coming cars and the massive pile of leaves that I didn't see until it was too late. Over the handle bars I went and I'm psyched the 200L came on sale. I need more lighting.
I have the Dinottte taillight with AA and I prefer the rechargeables concept like this 200L with the 2 cell lithium ion. It allows me to roll my bike into my basement and plug it in. I hate moving batteries back and forth, I prefer to just plug in a wire and charge. My commute is only 25 minutes each way, so that works for me. I don't need multiple batteries for long rides.
I just started commuting 4 months ago full time and this is all new to me. I anticipate many lights in my future.

It depends on many things. If you're a long distance rider you want to be able to have power anywhere should the batteries die out and the best is to go with AA's as you can find them anywhere. If your ride is not far but close to home then AA or Li-ion would be a better choice as you're closer to a plug in source. THen again it also depends on your lifestyle and how 'stationary' you are. If you're very mobile and don't stay in one place too often then AA would be better. If you're out in the rural area then AA would be probably better as you can probably find AA's by asking people or looking for people with headphones on.
Li-ion is also lighter then NIMH but pending where you ride and what times you're at there are pro/cons. At 3AM if the power dies at least you can pay the primeum at a corner store for thier AA's but if the Li-ion dies then you'll have to go without light till you can make it home or your destination to recharge again. While Li-ion lasts longer in the runtime you're still dealing with a propritary battery which when the battery dies off later and can't take a charge anymore you'll be paying big dollars for another Li-ion vs AA's.

I suspected as much.
I always imagined these sales were to push out all remaining stock of 200Ls for the new 300L to come out. Surely 200 lumens is a little antiquated and Dinotte seems to have their act together.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a new 300L announced in the next month at around $200.
Who knows. Pure speculation on my part.

Man, they are fast, I ordered Tuesday night, it shipped Wednesday and it arrived here in VA a few minutes ago. Even the pictures don't really give the impression of how small it is. And lightweight! I have time to charge it and give it a try on tonights ride. Christmas is here early...

Good thinking. If you are correct, I wonder how long it will be until the 600L is the 900L

Hey, that's my setup! PB Alias on the bars, 200L on the helmet, and 140L taillight with PB SuperFlash in the rear. And I have two sets of battery-powered LED Christmas lights from Target.
FWIW, the single LED model 200L is very new, having just recently been upgraded from "only" 120 lumens. The upgrade was this summer, so I doubt there's going to be a 300 lumens model that doesn't use mutliple LEDs.
