Triathlon - Habanero - Question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So, I blew my wad on a Serotta CDA for my training/road bike and am now looking to build a tri-bike, (for a bit less $). My LBS showed me Habanero Cycles (http://www.habcycles.com),
I am attracted to them for two reasons, first, price is reasonable for Ti, second, I am 6'6" and they make a 64cm frame stock (with a return policy!)
I am interested if anyone has any experience with them or any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance!

A 64cm frame made from 3AL/2.5V would not be very stiff.

That's an interesting point! Hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

Habanero Cycles (http://www.habcycles.com),
Why would they make the 62 and the 64 with the same length top tube, do torsos stop growing after a certain length?

Have you looked at Cervelo. With a 75 degree st you get a 604 tt on a 61 frame.

I have not but, it would certainly make the desire to test ride before I purchase a LOT easier! My Serotta has a 72.5 degree with a 63 cm ST and 59.6 TT. It might make it.
Thanks
You'll want a shorter top tbe on your tri bike.
A 60cm Felt should also be close to fitting. Find a tri bie store with a lot of stock and get on a few big bikes.

I have always been a fan of Felt but, always considered them to small (just by the numbers.) I will be interested in trying a few on. I know there are several shops in NYC but, I think that FitWerx or the like in Vermont would be my choice for trying them out.
Thanks

I really don't think those Habaneros are that great of a deal - depending on the build - $2400? Is that right? Well a Cervelo P2C is going to run you $2500 and I think that is the 07 price, the 08 price is 2000 I think.
A Felt B12 is going to cost you $2700 - These two bikes while only a couple hundred more are really much better frames with equal or superior components. Beware of what your LBS is trying to sell you....
