I am riding in my first competitive Time Trial later today. I have ridden the course a few times prior and know it well enough to feel that is an advantage. Is there any other tips people have for me?

I've never done a mtn bike Time Trial so my advice is insignificant at best!

LOL, thanks guys. I especially like A2's 2nd tip. I am not really a time trial person but I plan to use this and the last time trial in 4 weeks as a measure of my improvement over the month.

I've never raced and I only started mountain biking with the frequency and intensity I have now in late July. I am in the best Mtn biking shape I ever have been so I thought I would go try and see what else is out there.

Yeah, and I think it's heading your way!

We're supposed to get inundated through the weekend 3-5 inches per day!

Thanks for the tips.

Ride went well, didn't crash, beat the guy that normally outrides me by 30+ seconds with my chain coming off once and needing a Deraileur adjustment once.

I placed 1st in beginners but don't expect to stay there with my freind being motivated to ride harder now. :)

Congrats!

out of curiosity. How is the race set-up? Do you start at 1 min. intervals or how is it done?

Yes you start at 1 min intervals and ride one loop (6 miles). STop and start at the same location.
