Ok, this is a long shot.

I use to listen to a little KMFDM in the past. I still do a little. But, for any of you avid fans:

If I were to buy or download the best of, what would it be. I really want to get my friend a few of their best CDs or download a ton of tracks off iTunes for him (he lost all his CDs in a fire). But, I never listened to them enough to know.

I was more into Front Line Assembly.

I have a couple of older albums that I like. Naive and Angst.

I'm sure there are other good ones, but it's been some time since I really listened to them.

Yeah, that's the problem. I don't have an older CDs. I don't have their newer stuff. So, I'm up in the air about it. I should just ask him, but I would rather it be a suprise.

iTunes gift card! Then he can decide what to get.

I was thinking that too. It does sound like a better idea, honestly. But, I wanted to burn him a CD chock full o' KMFDM, Slick Idiot, MDFMK.

But yeah, you may be right.

I used to like Money but I haven't heard it in almost 15 years.

Well I now have WWIII and a couple others. I also have Slick Idiot and MDFMK. Being an old rivethead, I like some of it. WWIII is really good though.

I'd throw this fine crap on myself:

The Devil Does Drugs-My Life With The Thrill Kill Cult
Isolation-Joy Division
Love Missile F-111 - Sigue Sigue Sputnik
Power And The Passion-Midnight Oil
Kraftwerk
One Of These Days-Pink Floyd

May not all be industrial but it goes 100 mph just the same.

Wow, I've recently been boxing up my CD's after burning them all onto my iPod, and I was surprised to find I had about ten KMFDM albums/singles.

My votes for "best of":

-Light (Ex Force version)
-Light remixed by Pigface
(those first two go together nicely)
-Megalomaniac
-Virus
-Godlike
-Disobediance
-Juke Joint Jezebel
-Son of a Gun
-Inane
-Search and Destroy
-WWIII

Takes me back to my combat-boot stompin' days... now I have to listen with headphones in the basement or the kids will make fun of me!

My daughters (8 and 12) like Front Line Assembly, Celldweller, KMFDM, NIN, and a lot of other industrial stuff. Mind you, I play the non-swearing songs. Sometimes they ask for specific songs to listen to.

My youngest likes The Becoming by NIN. I stop it before then end.
My oldest likes that Last Firstborn by Celldweller.
They both like Gun by FLA and I recently introduced them to WWIII and they seem to like it too.
Oh and I played Just One Fix by Ministry to the youngest, she likes it as well.

The mind ISN'T a terrible thing to taste if you put enough ketchup on it.

my 11 year old just ripped Year Zero from NIN to her MP3 - along with Gretchen Wilson. No accounting for taste, IMHO.

I forgot about Juke Joint Jezebel. If they love that, and you don't mind some cussing, see if you can find an old copy of American Made Music to Strip By from Rob Zombie. If it has to be clean, see if there's a Walmart copy.

I've played Vessel by NIN YZ. But that's about it. They liked it. As for foul language, we try to keep it out of the house as much as possible. So I won't play too much for them unless it's relatively clean.
