Hello all
Open space has released it's initial master plan for La Honda creek, outside the town of La Honda. Unfortunately it does not include mtn bikes, with the exception of a pass through for the Ridge Trail. More info can be found here (http://www.openspace.org/preserves/pr_la_honda.asp).

We have put an e-petition together to urge open space to reconsider. If you are interested in signing it, it is located here (http://www.petitiononline.com/lahonda/petition.html).

Thanks for the help
Scott H

Since I just got my mtb cherry popped this past weekend I'll gladly sign the petition!

Hmmmm, no dogs either. Maybe you could link up with the dog owners and express outrage.

This park is out-of-the-way and small enough that I don't mind being barred from it. El Corte de Madera (aka Skeggs Point) and Purisima Creek are right next door with fantastic bike trails.

Something I really would fight for is bicycle access to one or more of the parks on the east side of Skyline near Redwood City/Woodside. I would really love to have a car-free bike route from the bay (or at least I-280) to the ocean. There already are nice trails in Purisima from Skyline down to near Half Moon Bay.

Signed. Let's hope they listen.

Funny they allow equestrians but not cyclists.

Perhaps it has to do with "sources of funding"

I sent an e-mail off to Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District asking for bike access. If you want to do the same, here is the address: lahondamasterplan@openspace.org
