Too cold for the "good" bike?

I have a new "entry-level" road bike (Trek Pilot 1.0) and an older "hybrid"-type bike. I am not going to take the road bike out in snowy/wet conditions this winter in order to keep it clean, but I'm wondering if I should also be concerned about extreme cold increasing the wear and tear?

My goal is to stress the new bike as little as possible while it is still new. Staying off salt-covered snowy roads is a bit obvious, just unsure if the temp matters much...

I'd not worry about it. There's not really much on a bike that can be damaged simply by temperature. Even water and salt and smutz won't do too much harm. I've been riding in cold temps on all kinds of bikes since wooly mammoths roamed the earth and never had a problem that was related to temperature...other than crashing:o
