Commuting - knickers: can you recommend a pair?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can anyone recommend a pair of Knicker like the Chrome brand type, but at a more economical price? I had been contemplating getting some knicker tights, mainly because many say they are adequate for riding in the rain, but I don't think ready to do the tights things, especially after hearing the hairy legs and tights don't go together very well. So can you point me in the right direction?

You should check out the SS/FG forum. There are like eleventy-billion threads on this. Other than that, grab some army surplus pants and cut 'em off. Cheap + durable...

I buy pants at the local thrift shop and cut them off. Takes 30 minutes tops including sewing them back up. I prefer the wool dress slacks or uniform pants when I can find them. Most I ever pay is $5.

Thrift store cargos + scissors + crude sewing technique = new knickers.
