This am was the coldest so far --
around 14-15 F with a 12-15 MPH WNW zephyr
My commute is sort of 'V'shaped (on paths) so at one point or another, it's a headwind or at least a quartering wind.
My gear is working so far... thin balaclava (I was warned that if you get one too thick, you roast), ear band, wicking long sleeve, three button cotton jersey, wool sweater, wind jacket, thin cycling tights under levis, socks and shoes (always good to wear shoes).
Five miles on paths and some streets... I'm toasty when I get to the end.
I find it interesting to see how one evolves: I used to cringe when I went out in the cold... now I just brace against it and in no time I'm warm underneath.
tomorrow:
3-4 inches of snow followed by sleet, rain, bleeck... will have to get the fat tire bike out for my commute (yeah I work on saturday)
