Commuting - portlandcyclewear.com wool jersey/knickers group buy?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Been looking for some affordable wool jerseys, and some colder weather pants. Saw this site, they have bulk pricing.
Long Sleeve Wool Jerseys at $43 each for 30+ http://www.portlandcyclewear.com/catalog/item/4628706/5078860.htm
3/4 length messenger pants, $39 each for 12+

I totally understand the whole being new here, and that people probably wouldn't trust me to take all their money and order the gear, so hopefully people will be interested, and hopefully an old-timer will be willing to be the point of contact/money man. I just want some affordable good gear :)
You might want to check into the results of some of the previous group buys from them.
Dealing with them is a long, drawn-out and often painful process.
I've seen threads about this in the fixed forum, but mostly it was people complaining about the guy being an ass, which is only mildly relevant. Did anyone actually go through with one of these to completion? I really do like those knickers.

The last time I tried to order anything from them he told me it would be at least a 3 month wait. I know people who have their wool jersey's and love them, but be prepared to wait, probably until summer.

Yeah, unfortunately the search function is broken atm, so the only way to look for old ones is to browse :)

If any of these fit, you might want to check out the sale on Canari wool shortsleeves at Sierra Trading Post (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,57740_Canari-La-Mongie-Cycling-Jersey-Merino-Wool-Short-Sleeve-For-Men.html).
$35 for MADE IN THE USA wool... can't beat that. If you search around you can also usually find a 20%-off coupon code and make it even cheaper.

The USA sports stuff always seems better made! ;)

I own a pair of the 3/4 Messenger Pants and while they're quite good cycling knickers, they are most definitely not cold weather knickers. Maybe if you wore tights under them, but by themselves they are thin nylon and don't offer much insulation. Although of course I'm not sure what you mean by "colder"; I'm speaking of Seattle cold which is 40s, 30s and sometimes the 20s F.
If you're looking for cold weather cycling knickers of the technical-but-sort-of-look-like-normal-knickers type I'd recommend taking a look at Swrve. Chrome, Rapha and Bicycle Fixation also make knickers of the heavier type, but I've only used Chrome's Lightweight Shins.

I'd be in for a Knickers group buy. I have enough wool jerseys already. (actually, I have two PCW jerseys and they are great.)

If you watch eBay, Portland Cyclewear blows jerseys out around this time of year. The eBay id is huby008.
