Bicycle Mechanics - Have I got this gear cable installed properly?

This is on a Dawes Galaxy. The old cable which I'm replacing pulled out of the derailleur, I think, so I didn't see what it was like before.

Should I have the cable wrapped around more, so that it goes right around the bolt's stem and comes out pointing directly down?
Thanks

The cable should be routed over the peg (you've got the cable installed under it) and in the recess so it sticks out of the side.

Look at your top photo where you have the label "bolt". To the immediate left of the red line there is a little tab sticking out of the derailleurs arm and you have the cable routed under it. The cable should go over and outside of it instead. Then wrap the cable toward the outside of the bike so it runs through the groove in the arm and winds up pointing outward. It's not necessary to wrap it any further around the bolt.

Oh I see the groove now, visible in those pictures. It seems strange that it should go over the tab/peg, but ok!
Hmm, I need to sort out what's making the chain skip and jump. I'll make a new thread about that later, I guess.
Thanks dude, I'll change the cable to how it should be

Yes it seems odd and it's not obvious that the cable should go over the peg but that's the correct way. Shimano's installation sheet shows the proper routing but doesnn't make a big thing about it. It should. The front indexing doesn't work properly unless the cable is run the right way.
Putting the cable over that little bit doesn't seem like much but makes a big difference in shifting.
Having ripped through a couple of front shifter cables (105) in the last year, I dug up this old thread and found it helpful. I looked through a bunch of Shimano's installation sheets (http://techdocs.shimano.com/techdocs/index.jsp) until I found a good drawing that shows exactly how the cable should be routed on a front derailleur, even if wire is misspelled (http://www.yourdictionary.com/library/misspelled.html).
It's hard to find, so I thought I'd share the results of my research.
