This is a really simple alteration - I hope the simplicity does not offend anyone here. I have been bitten with the bike bug and now, as an expression of my new found love am looking to add a folding bike to my stable. I have found one that I really like - it has a nice large area behind the seat tube that is just begging to have a motor mounted in it - but I find that the bikes are not as stable as my 26" beach bike. I would like to change the fork to one that has more rake. There are a lot more 24" & 26" forks to choose from that have more rake - also I think a larger wheel up front in general would make the bike more enjoyable to ride.

Is this advisable? What should I consider?

By adding a longer rake and a larger tire, wouldn't that defeat the purose of a folding bike?
